this is interesting. the numbers are lower than I would have thought- I figured at least one death per week.
I've heard, though it's more rumour than anything, that for every jumper there's a driver that goes on permanent disability leave with full pay. I've heard that, as tragic and traumatic the experience must be for the driver, it's seen as a sort of 'jackpot', giving them a free pass to a cushy retirement...
